Seminar on "Cinema and filmmakers of the XXI century: Constantin Lopushansky: Russian victories and Russian destiny"

On Tuesday 24 May at 15.00 at White Hall of Russian Institute for Art History will be held the third seminar of the series “Cinema and filmmakers of the XXI century”. May 24 is a Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. The workshop on the subject “Russian victories and destiny” with film director Konstantin Lopushansky be held on this day. The meeting is held by the Russian Institute of Art History in collaboration with the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.

K.S. Lopushansky, Ph.D. has his first education as a musician. After graduating from the Kazan Conservatory as a violinist he used to trained at the Leningrad State Conservatory at the Department of musical direction. He worked as a lecturer of a history of the performing arts at Kazan and Leningrad conservatories, editor of the Leningrad Academic Maly Opera Theatre.

He graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and directors (the director’s department, Emile Lotyanu courses). He was an assistant on Andrei Tarkovsky “Stalker” movie shooting. He works as a producer at the concern “Lenfilm” as well as Andrey Sigle movie studio “Proline Film”.

At 1991-1996 he headed the Christian Motion Picture Association of St. Petersburg. Member of the Russian Academy of Motion Picture Arts “Nika”. Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of Russia. In 2007 he was chairman of the jury XVII International Film Festival “Message to Man”.

2013 – “Role” – the author of the script collab. with Pavel Finn, director.
