Second Meeting «Day of Memories: Unknown Pages of the History of the Russian Institute for the History of the Art »

On Wednesday, October 27, the second meeting «Day of Memories: Unknown Pages in the History of the Russian Institute for the History of the Arts» was held at the Russian Institute for the History of Arts.

“Day of Memories” is not just a combination of words for Russian Institute for the History of Arts. Meetings, more precisely, meetings with this name were held at our institute in 1926–1927 and were devoted to the theatrical life of the post-revolutionary period. Subsequently, the texts of these performances, stenographed in detail, were widely used in the preparation of the first volume of the History of the Soviet Theater, published in 1933.

A year ago, we held the first trial session devoted to the history of our institute, at which V. V. Somina, N. A. Tarshis, A. B. Nikanorov, E. V. Khazdan spoke about the history of the institute, with him: theatrical figures P. P. Gromov and S. V. Vladimirov, folklorist and musicologist F. A. Rubtsov, who headed the sector of source study A. Ya. Altshuller and others.

This year is marked by three anniversaries that are important for the institute: the 70th anniversary of T. D. Ismagulova, the historian of our institute and a passionate collector of historical materials about its past, the 80th anniversary of the researcher of Russian musical folklore V. A. Lapin, who has worked in the folklore sector for more than 50 years, who held the post of director for a long time, as well as deputy chairman of the Dissertation Council. And finally, at the end of December, Olga Dansker, an employee of the Institute, who worked in the Office of Manuscripts of the Institute, a person of a clear mind and amazing memory, who captured the details of the life of the Institute and the peculiarities of the era, will turn 100 years old.

The meeting was attended by A. F. Nekrylova, A. L. Porfirieva, E. V. Khazdan, D. A. Rybakova and others.

The event was held in the format of a video conference.
