Meeting with Wang Zheng-Ting, the music artist, composer, professor of the University of Melbourne

On Wednesday, December 11, at 16.00 in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts, an instrumental workshop on the theme “To have a better understanding of Chinese mouth organ the sheng” was be held. The event was be held as part of the cycle “Russian and world art history: history and prospects of interaction.” The main speaker will be the musician, composer, director and coordinator of the Chinese instrumental course, professor at the University of Melbourne Wang Zheng-Ting (Australia).

Professor Wang Chzhen-Ting was present one of the oldest musical instruments in China – the shene, the tricks of playing it, the latest changes in the design of the instrument, and also perform a number of compositions on the shen. The translation into Russian was be provided by Maxim Ivanovich Karpets, composer, Ph.D., Senior Research Scientist, Dept. of Organology, RIHA.
