Fifth International Scientific Conference “Unknown Pages of the History of Art History”
On November 11–13, 2021, the Fifth International Scientific Conference from the cycle “Unknown Pages of the History of Art History” will be held in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts of the Arts.
Since 2014, the Russian Institute for the History of Arts has been working on an international research and publishing project “Unknown Pages in the History of Art History” (“New Documents on the History of Art History”). The project has already hosted four conferences dedicated to the periods of the 1920s – 1930s (in 2014) and 1940–1960s (in 2016), as well as the study of epistolary monuments in art history (2018) and translations of special terminology (2020). The materials of the first two conferences are presented in the collections “New documents on the history of art history: XX century” (Issue 1. 1920–1930s. Russian Institute for the History of the Arts, 2017 and Issue 2. 1940-1960s. Russian Institute for the History of Arts, 2018). The materials of the third conference are currently being prepared for publication (and will be released, as planned, in the fall of 2021).
The fifth conference of this cycle will take place in November 2021. Scientists (art critics of various specialties) from Russia, Germany, USA, France, Latvia and Finland will make reports. The conference will be held in a mixed format (in person and by Zoom).
