Seminar workshop: «Cinema and the filmmakers of the XXI century: Valentine Gurkalenko-Sidelnikov, «Stone the savior»

On Monday, March 28 at 14.00 at White Hall of Russian Institute for Art History held a second seminar of the series “Cinema and the filmmakers of the XXI century”.

Year of 2016 declared as the Year of Cinema in Russia. Russian Institute of Art History hold a series of meetings with leading filmmakers of the city and the country. This time, our guest – one of the leading documentary filmmakers, longtime artistic director of the studio “Lennauchfilm” Valentine Gurkalenko-Sidelnikov. She is well known as the screenplay writer and films producer. Among her work such films as “Star Wormwood” (film series about Chernobyl), “Petersburg romance” (Yuri Borisov), “Rendezvous with eternity”,”Stone the Savior” and others. Human as itself before the face of history in up-to-the-minute critical moment – is a main subject of her creations.

The seminar will present art-documentary film “Stone the savior” (in two parts). The fate of a man, who alone trying to restore the destroyed monastery on the island at Kubensky lake.

Critics, artists and students are welcomed.
