Scientific-practical conference "Folklorism movement today"

On Wednesday, October 26, in Green Hall of Russian Institute for the History of Arts, Department of Folklore carries out a scientific-practical conference “Folklorism movement today”.

This conference, despite of its inclusion into the Congress and the School of Young Folklorists, has a unique remarkable themes and aims to consider a different aspects of modern folklorism. Meanwhile, the most relevant phenomenon inevitably linked with epoch, era, with the process, with reference to the past, and sometimes – even the future. Reports therefore concern not only the methods of stage (or any other) folklore embodiment into an urban environment, but also to address issues of current state of the rural authentic tradition, which today often involved a variety of secondary cultural forms. Some posts are dedicated to the discovery of folklorism in various art forms, which are – literature, cinema. The conference, therefore, examines many aspects, features, issues and types of folklorism. In the foreground will offer an anthropological aspect, covering all cultural realities and processes. The identity of the traditional artist would be investigated in a variety of properties, both personal and deeply connected with the tradition. An attempt of considering contacts between folk musicians, singers – and the people who come from outside (including representatives folklorism new city artists) would be made. The problem of interconnections and understanding between them as well as the possibility to the external observers to accept of the authentic culture with a certain degree of awareness. There is yet a level of a deep immersion into tradition. In some cases, there are the possibilities for observer to penetrate deeper into the culture. How this process is done? Is it possible to analyze it, check it out? If not, it is possible at all, whether it is feasible? Obviously the main thing is: the need for a deep human communication. That is cause for the conference to talk about personal history and tradition bearers, and urban musicians.
