Scientific conference «Matter of the image. History of art technique and technology»

On Monday, April 29, at 12.00 in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts, the Department of Fine Arts and Architecture was present a scientific conference «Matter of the image. History of art technique and technology».
Art has long had to create images, doing without any material substance, avoiding even the slightest signs of substantiality. However, in the context of an art great history, this circle of works has looks like a tiny island, while the surrounding sea somehow consists of things that are made according to well-known technology and in a certain technique. And, those a disembodied image, if you would be taking the basics, can also be determined by the principle of creation, which are embedded in them. The way actively technique – technology affects the art, it is well known since the publication of the works of Gottfried Semper. At the same time, there is no doubt that technique and technology constantly mutate and change, so there is always a point in addressing this issue again
