Scientific Conference “Civilization Prerequisites for the World Achievements of Russia”
On the eve of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11.00 at the Russian Institute for the History of Arts, a scientific conference “Civilizational preconditions for Russia’s world achievements” (cycle “Russian civilization in historical retrospective and perspective”) will be held.
Organizers: Russian Institute for the History of Arts, Likhatchev Russian Research Institute for Cultural and Natural Heritage (Institute of Heritage).
The conference continues the cycle of scientific events dedicated to the discussion of the most pressing issues of the Russian civilization as a subject of the world historical and cultural process. On the eve of the year of folk art and intangible cultural heritage, as well as within the framework of measures for the preparation and celebration of the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences, it is proposed to discuss the civilizational conditions and prerequisites for Russia’s outstanding achievements in the field of artistic and scientific activities, philosophical, aesthetic and social thought and other areas of intangible cultural practice. The events of recent years, and above all the tension in relations between Russia, the West and the East at the level of key worldview values, give particular relevance to this topic.
Russian and foreign scientists in the field of philosophy, art history, history, culturology and civilizational problems, cultural and art workers, representatives of religious associations are invited.
The conference is supposed to be held in the form of a mixed face-to-face meeting-webinar. Passwords will be sent to remote participants after confirming their participation in the conference. Materials of reports can be published in an electronic collection.
