IV International Scientific Conference ‘Translations of Terminology and Special Literature in Art Criticism’

On December 7–9, 2020, at 09.00 Middle European time (= 11.00 Moscow) the International Scientific Conference ‘Translations of Terminology and Special Literature in Art Criticism’ will be held in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of the Arts.

Since 2014, Russian Institute for the History of the Arts has been working on a research and publishing project ‘New Pages in the History of Art History’ / ‘New Documents on the History of Art History’. Within the framework of the project, three conferences have already been held on the periods of the 1920s – 1930s (2014) and 1940–1960s (2016), as well as the study of epistolary monuments in art history (2018). The materials of the first two conferences are presented in the collections ‘New documents on the history of art history: XX century’ (Issue 1, 2017 and Issue 2, 2018). The materials of the third conference are currently being prepared for publication.

The fourth conference of this cycle will take place in December 2020. It will be devoted to the history and issues of studying translations of special terminology in various fields of art history. Scientists, art critics of various specialties from Russia, Germany, Switzerland and France will make reports. (Reports of foreign colleagues will be delivered by Zoom.)
