International Musicology Society (IMS) International Research Group Session on the history
On Friday, June 5, at 15.00 the Russian Institute for the History of the Arts and IMS will hold a joint video conference of the IMS international research group (study group) session.
The reports are expected in the program of the session as follows:
Dorothea Baumann (Zurich). — Women in the IMS
Petra van Langen (Utrecht). — Pioneers in musicology
Beata Boleslavska (Warsaw). — Musicology in Poland as part of the IMS network.
Christiane Sibille (Zurich). — International networks in musicological journals
Zhanna Knyazeva (St. Petersburg). — Jacques Handschin, IMS and the International Congress of Musicology in New York (1939)
The languages for the speeches and discussions are English and German.
A research group on the history of the International Musicology Society (IMS) was founded in 2017 at the Russian Institute for the History of Arts by a number of scientists participating in the publication IMS-History (2017); its leaders are Dorothea Baumann (Zurich) and Zhanna Knyazeva (St. Petersburg). The first two sessions of the group took place in St. Petersburg (October 2017) and Lucerne (July 2018). As part of the videoconference, the third working session of the group will be held.
The seminars will take place via Zoom. In order to join the seminar, please email the convenors (email@example.com) by midday the day before the seminar with just the message line ‘History of the IMS panel attendee’ followed by your full name as it will appear on Zoom. You will then be sent a Zoom invitation including a room password about an hour before the start of the seminar. On joining the meeting you will enter a ‘waiting room’ and will be admitted at the scheduled start time. Further instructions will be sent with the invitation.
