The exhibition "Year of Marius Petipa in Russia"

In the framework of the Marius Petipa’ Year celebration in Russia, the staff of the Scientific Library prepared an exhibition of editions dedicated to the choreographer. The exhibition presents books about his life and work with photographs of the choreographer’s work in the Mariinsky Theater (end of the 19th century), including a rare edition of M.I.Petipa “(St. Petersburg, 1922). Petipa’s libretto is presented in a separate showcase: “Swan Lake”, “Roxana – the beauty of Montenegro”, “Don Quixote”, “Sleeping Beauty”, “La Bayadere”, “Mauritania in Spain”, which today compile the golden fund of Russian ballet. Especially interesting lifetime publications of the libretto for the ballets Zoraya are among them. Mauritanian in Spain” (1881), “Roxane – the beauty of Montenegro” (1878), “Kandavl the King”(1869).
The exhibition will last until the end of March and is available for visiting during the hours of the Scientific Library on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.00 to 17.45, Fridays from 10.00 to 16.45.
