The exhibition “On the N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov (1844–1908) 175th anniversary: Biographical documents and photographs”
Begin at March 27, 2019, an exposition timed to the Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov (1844–1908) 175th anniversary will be presented in the lobby of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts. The earthly journey of the great composer has been laid the short 64 years period and found to be a detailed reflection in the archive documents of the Cabinet of manuscripts of the aforementioned institute. The concept of this exposition is descibed as the desire to illustrate the stages of the composer’s everyday biography, based on his personal documents – birth and baptism certificates, children’s letters and drawings, marriage certificate, and a service certificate. The photographs presented in the exhibition reflect Rimsky-Korsakov stages of maturation and aging and give an idea of the family and friendly environment of the great composer. The exhibition runs until April 26th.
