The concert «From New York with love (Love theme in American music of XIX-XXI centuries)»

On Friday, April 15 in the Green Hall of Russian Institute for Art History, at 19.00 was host a concert “With love from New York (love theme in American music XIX-XXI centuries.).”

The concept of the event is to acquaint the Russian audience with musical variety of creative American composers, unknown in Russia, as well as to recall the well-known, all your favorite tunes from musicals and musical films.

The concert program was feature various aspects of American vocal miniatures (American Art Song): from the origins of “the father of American music” Stephen Foster to our time, the music of our contemporaries – Ned Rorem, Dominick Argento, Lee Hoiby.

The first half of the program was present a classic performing style, the second – an easy listening genre: songs from musicals and musical films, such as “My Fair Lady”, “Sun Valley Serenade”, etc…
