Icons and stamps dedicated to Peter Tchaikovsky. Presentation of materials from Victor Pakhomov collection
On Wednesday, March 28, at 3 pm in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts, Olga Kolganova, PhD, [Department of Organology, scientific researcher] will present the concept of the materials for the exhibition of badges and stamps dedicated to Peter Tchaikovsky from the V.Pakhomov collection. Opening of the exhibition will be held April 11, 2018 at the State Memorial and Architectural Complex “Peter Tchaikovsky’ Museum-Estate” in Votkinsk (Udmurt Republic).
The current presentation is a part of the cycle of events “In memory of Peter Tchaikovsky (On the 125th anniversary of the death of the composer).” This is a joint project of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts, the State Memorial and Architectural Complex “Peter Tchaikovsky Museum-Estate” (Votkinsk, Udmurtia) and the Tchaikovsky Museum of Local History (Tchaikovsky, Perm Region).
At the exhibition will be demonstrated more than 500 copies of badges, devided into thematic groups: Russian and foreign composers; musical societies; theaters of opera and ballet, concert halls; festivals and competitions; emblems of cities with musical symbols; musical instruments; signs of notation, etc. In the center of the exposition – the creative personality of Peter Tchaikovsky. A number of exhibits will present the personality of the composer in the mirror of numismatics (coins, tokens, table medals).
A small selection of stamps, postcards and envelopes associated with the composer’s name will enhance the exposition.
