WORKSHOP «MUSIC OF THE XXI CENTURY. FROM THE FIRST PERSON: ALEXANDER KNAIFEL»

On Monday, January 18 at 19.00 in the RIAH’s Green Hall will host a workshop «Music of the XXI century. From the first person», the second in the series of research seminars with contemporary composers and performers. This time will be a meeting with the St. Petersburg composer Alexander Knaifel.
Honored Artist of Russia (1993), Commander of the Order of Friendship (2004), winner of the International Award DAAD (1992), Alexander Knaifel is the author of over one hundred works in all areas of musical artistry. His works have been heard in the most prestigious festivals in the world performed by the honorable musicians.
The workshop will include a presentation of the new book «The Bridge to Eden» (published by «Composer • Saint-Petersburg»), which included an series interview with Alexander Knaifel taken over years. Book editor Lidia Ader and chief editor Svetlana Tairova will attend the presentation. Leading the meeting — Research Fellow, Department of Music, PhD George Kovalevsky.
The seminar is open to all interested in contemporary music, aesthetics and philosophy of art, as well as the latest trends and developments in the field of art.
