Scientific and practical conference «There spirit loves among themselves ...»
On Monday, June 4, at 11.00 in the Green Hall of Russian Institute for the History of Arts there will be held a scientific and practical conference “There spirit loves among themselves …”, dedicated to the jubilee of Natalia Semyonovna Seregina, the RIHA principal research scientist, doctor habilitatus.
Natalia Semyonina Seryogina in 1964 got the degree at two departments of the Kemerovo College of Music (piano and historical-theoretical). In 1970 she finished the Gorky Conservatoire by the class of D.V.Zhitomirsky with a “D.Scarlatti Sonatas” as her course work and a “Vespers” by Sergey Rachmaninov” as a principal diploma work. In 1973 she graduated from the Leningrad’ N.A.Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory by the class of M.V.Brazhnikov. From 1973 to the present time she works at the Russian Institute for the History of Arts (formerly LGITMiK, Department of Science). She is doctor habilitatus, RIHA principal research scientist (St. Petersburg).
Being a unique expert on Old Russian church music, N.S.Seregina is a researcher of Russian culture in its various aspects. She is author of several fundamental monographs and large number of scientific articles. The main areas of research: records of ancient Russian singing art and hymnography, issues of Old Russian and Russian musical art. Based on the materials of the research, films and TV programs, concert programs on the author’s transcripts of ancient Russian chants, including in the author’s version, were created. She participated in conferences, scientific discussions on Russian music in many places as follows: Vladivostok, Yakutsk, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Moscow, Petersburg, Novgorod, Pskov, Rostov, Volgograd, Kiev, Lviv, Minsk, Hernen, Bonn, Paris, etc.
