I.D. Sablin, PhD, personal open lecture: «Grunewald. Unknown artist»

On Wednesday, March 1, at 15.30 in the White Hall of the Russian Institute for the History of Arts held personal open lecture Ivan Sablin «Grunewald. Unknown artist».

Master Mathis from Aschaffenburg, performed at the early 16th century, a dozen completely unique creations which are nothing similar before. He was and still perceived as an artist, of which the researchers do not have virtually no reliable information, except those, of course, that his paintings are able to provide with for the critics, and ordinary viewers. Perhaps they are not quite few, and they are not so mysterious, not to shed light on some not too obvious side of the history of art, allowing us to depict the whole story in a rather unexpected light? – If you take a closer look closely to them …
